Merry, merry!
Each season I try to celebrate my work from the year with an abstract ornament series that reflects on the pieces I have made. This year my work was once again very colorful, but also filled with big washes of color and mark making in different mediums, like the oil pastels I layered in many of these ornaments. To keep with the holiday glitz, I continued with faux gold leaf highlights I used last year and added some sprayed gold shimmer. I think they're statement pieces for any display!
The ornaments are approximately 3”, ceramic, painted in acrylic and pastel, and finished with protective varnish. They're hung with recycled silk fabric ribbon.
